2026 has been one of the most challenging years in the 14-year history of My Digital Lock. Almost every month, we have seen businesses closing down, while operating costs and the cost of living continue to rise.
After working hard throughout the year, we decided it was time to take a break, recharge, and spend some quality time together before the year comes to an end.
To make this trip possible, we closed 12 of our shops so that our team could fully enjoy the trip without having to worry about work.
This is more than just a company trip — it is our way of saying thank you to every member of the My Digital Lock family for their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout this challenging year.
An Peng — One of Our Founding Members
An Peng is one of the third founding members of My Digital Lock.
When I was still serving in the army, I recruited him. At that time, he doubted whether I could build the business and didn’t believe people would pay for digital locks because they were still too expensive.
But he chose to believe in me and My Digital Lock, starting with just $900 salary + $200 housing allowance.
13 years later, he is married, owns a house and a car, has a child in China, and has built a successful career.
Many of our former colleagues eventually became competitors, but most did not survive.

Together with Roger and Lynn, he played a key role in building My Digital Lock into what it is today.
I am proud that the company we built together has also helped him build a better life.
Why Did I Set Up My Digital Lock in 2012 Instead of Working for Others?
Before starting My Digital Lock, I worked for three different bosses in the digital lock industry. Apart from being owed my salary at times, I also began to realise something that deeply influenced me.
I felt that many business owners were focused mainly on themselves. Workers were paid the minimum, while much of the responsibility was pushed onto the staff.
Instead of reinvesting in the business and building something bigger together, I saw money being spent on bigger houses, luxury cars and expensive watches.
I wanted to do things differently.
That was one of the reasons I decided to start My Digital Lock in 2012.
My goal was never just to build a company. I wanted to build a future — to create wealth together, change our destiny, and make sure that the people who contribute to the company would receive their fair share of its success.
14 Years Later: From $500 Capital to a $50 Million Company
Today, after 14 years, I am proud to see that many of our staff have bought their own homes, started families and achieved milestones in life.
They don’t just see My Digital Lock as a company they work for.
They know that they are part of the company.

And honestly, something even more meaningful has happened along the way.
Many of our staff have become best friends with one another. We have grown together, struggled together, celebrated together and built something that none of us could have built alone.
Because of digital locks, every one of us has achieved something in life.

We may not be the richest people in Singapore.
But our hard work, determination and contribution have earned recognition across Singapore.
Every salesperson and installer feels proud whenever we visit a shopping mall, condominium, HDB flat or landed property.

Because when we walk into these places, we know that somewhere inside, there is a digital lock that came from our company.
And we know exactly where we came from.
A company that started with just $500 in capital.
Today, you can find a digital lock from My Digital Lock in almost every corner of Singapore.
That is something I am incredibly proud of.
Not just because we built a successful company —
but because we built it together.
My Most Trusted Right-Hand Man
Whenever a customer has a problem with their digital lock, all I need to do is give him the instructions — and he can handle almost any situation.
Every door, gate and piece of carpentry is made from wood and metal, so nothing will ever be 100% perfect. What matters is that our team is always willing to find the problem, fix it and make it right.
Even as the director, I personally monitor and work closely with my team to make sure every problem is properly resolved and every customer is taken care of.
188 Cans of Beer in One Night
The only night when all our installers didn’t have to drive home — so everyone could finally relax, drink, and have fun together.
To make sure everyone had a good time, I joined them and drank together with the team before we headed back to the hotel.
But apparently, the night wasn’t over yet.
After I went back to the hotel, most of them went for a second round and continued drinking until 4:30am! 😂

More Than Just a Company
I can tell that most of our sales team, installers and accounts team had been looking forward to this company trip for a long time.
What makes My Digital Lock a strong company is not just our products or sales — it is our people.
We have some of the most experienced and talented people in the digital lock industry, but more importantly, we are united as one team.
Everyone takes pride in what we do and treats My Digital Lock not just as a workplace, but as a second home.

While most of the guys were wondering why we were there — and quickly headed back to the bus to sleep — our ladies were fully geared up for shopping! 😂
Many of them went all out, purchasing beautiful pearls and expensive jewellery.

Everyone in this photo played a part in building My Digital Lock — from the pioneers who helped establish our company and operate our 20 outlets across Singapore, to our installers who deliver, install and provide warranty support for customers islandwide.
What makes My Digital Lock different from other digital lock companies is not just our digital locks — it is the team behind them.
When many of our staff first joined us, they simply saw it as a job. But after years of growing together, many have achieved some of the biggest milestones of their lives through My Digital Lock — from building their careers to starting families and achieving their personal goals.
Over time, this company became more than just a workplace.
It became their home
I am now 36 years old and have spent 17 years in the digital lock industry. This will be my final career, and I intend to give everything I have to it.
Together with my team, we will continue working towards one goal — to make My Digital Lock a digital lock found in every household in Singapore.
This is our team. This is our journey. And this is only the beginning.
